PROLUX PXD-5108HS-4K/X1 / 8 Channel 4K Penta-brid DVR

Old coax cameras and newer network cameras can share one recorder here. The PROLUX PXD-5108HS-4K/X1 / 8 Channel 4K Penta-brid DVR (digital video recorder) accepts HDCVI, AHD, TVI, CVBS and IP inputs.

What each input records

• 8 analogue channels on BNC connectors (the coax plug used on most analogue cameras).
• HDCVI: 4K, 6MP, 4MP, 1080P at 25/30fps, 720P at 50/60fps and 720P at 25/30fps.
• AHD and TVI: 5MP, 4MP, 3MP, 1080P and 720P at 25/30fps.
• CVBS: PAL/NTSC, for older composite cameras.
• IP: 8+4 channel input, each channel up to 8MP.

What you see on the monitor

The HDMI output runs up to 3840×2160, with 2560×1440, 1920×1080, 1280×1024 and 1280×720 also available. The VGA output runs up to 1920×1080. Screen layouts are 1/4/8/9-way, and 16-way once IP extension mode is enabled. On-screen text covers camera title, time, video loss, camera lock, motion detection and recording status.

What else you need

• A hard drive. A DVR stores its recordings on one.
• A suitable power supply. The recorder runs on DC12V/2A and draws under 10W without a drive fitted.
• Compression: H.265+/H.265 dual-stream, a newer codec than H.264 that generally produces smaller files.

Audio is one RCA input and one RCA output, which are reused for two-way talk. Smart Search helps with finding recorded events, and the recorder runs embedded Linux.
