The PROLUX PXN-2108HS-8P-4K (PROLUX PXN-2108HS-8P-4K ,NVR 8 Channel 1U 8PoE 4K&H.265 Lite Network Video Recorder) records up to 8 IP cameras and powers them through 8 built-in PoE ports. PoE means Power over Ethernet: one network cable carries both data and power.
What the numbers mean
- 80Mbps incoming bandwidth. This is the total stream the recorder accepts from all cameras. Each channel records at 16Kbps to 20Mbps.
- H.265/H.264 compression. H.265 produces smaller files at the same quality, so a drive lasts longer.
- Up to 8MP recording. Preview and playback also go up to 8MP. Decoding is 1 channel at 8MP or 4 channels at 1080p, both at 30fps.
- PoE budget: 80W in total, 25.5W maximum per port (IEEE 802.3at/af). Add up your cameras' draw before connecting all eight.
What else you need
- One SATA hard drive. Capacity is listed as up to 6TB per drive (SATA III) and, in another entry, up to 10TB. There is no eSATA.
- A monitor. HDMI reaches 3840×2160. VGA reaches 1920×1080. Both outputs work at the same time.
- A DC 48V/1.25A supply.

Remote viewing works from iPhone, iPad and Android, with Easy4ip and DDNS among the network functions. Motion detection uses 396 zones and includes tamper detection. Backup goes over USB (two USB 2.0 ports) or the network. ONVIF 2.4 is supported. Alarm input and relay output are not fitted. Two-way talk uses RCA connectors. The case is 1U, 260×224.9×47.6mm, and weighs 0.8kg without a drive.
