Product Description
The HiLook 8-ch Mini 1U 8 PoE NVR (NVR-108MH-D/8P) records up to 8 IP cameras and powers them from its own ports. An NVR is a network video recorder: it stores footage from IP cameras on a hard drive. PoE (Power over Ethernet) carries power and data down one network cable, so each camera needs a single cable run.
What the specs mean in practice
- 8 PoE ports, IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at. Compatible cameras plug straight into the recorder, with no separate PoE switch.
- Recording up to 6MP. Each of the 8 channels accepts cameras up to 6 megapixels.
- H.265+/H.265/H.264+/H.264 compression. These codecs shrink video files. H.265+ cuts storage use further while keeping image quality.
- 60 Mbps incoming and 60 Mbps outgoing bandwidth. This is the network capacity for recording and remote access.
- Playback of 4 channels at 1080p, or 2 channels at 4MP. Useful when reviewing several cameras together.
- HDMI and VGA output at the same time, up to 1920 × 1080. Connect two displays at once.
What else you need
- A SATA hard drive. There is one SATA interface, supporting up to 6TB.
- PoE-capable IP cameras at 6MP or below per channel.
- A monitor with an HDMI or VGA input for local viewing.
Remote viewing works through HiLookVision software, a web browser or a mobile app. The rear panel has the 8 PoE ports, LAN, HDMI, VGA, USB ports and power input.
