Product Description
The HIKVISION DS-7208HGHI-M1 is an 8-channel 1U DVR (digital video recorder) that takes both analogue and IP cameras, so it suits a mixed-camera upgrade as much as a fresh install.
What the specs mean for you
- 8 analogue channels (HDTVI/AHD/CVI/CVBS) plus up to 10 IP camera channels in hybrid mode, IP resolution up to 5 MP — useful if you're adding newer IP cameras to an existing coax run rather than rewiring.
- H.265 Pro+/H.265 Pro/H.265 compression — cuts file size against older H.264 kit, so the same hard drive holds more footage.
- Encoding up to 1080p lite at 15 fps — set expectations on smoothness before recording motion-heavy scenes.
- Max 1200 m for a 720p HDTVI signal — relevant if cameras sit a long cable run from the recorder.
- Motion Detection 2.0 uses deep learning to tell human and vehicle movement apart from shadows, weather or foliage, cutting nuisance alerts.
- Audio comes via RCA input/output or over coaxial cable from a compatible camera — no separate audio cable needed for the latter.
- Output: HDMI and VGA together, up to 1920×1080.
- Network: 10/100 Mbps Ethernet for Hik-Connect remote viewing and playback.
- Storage: one SATA drive, up to 4 TB — plan drive size against channel count and recording frame rate.
Suits residential, retail and small commercial hybrid CCTV setups.
