The HIKVISION 4-ch 8 MP 1U H.265 PoC DVR (DS-7204HUHI-K1/P) is a four-channel digital video recorder (DVR) for coaxial camera systems. It also accepts IP cameras.
What the specs mean in practice
- PoC (Power over Coax): compatible cameras receive power and send HDTVI video over the same coaxial cable. That is one cable run per camera instead of two.
- Five input types: each of the 4 channels adapts to HDTVI, AHD, CVI or CVBS signals, or an IP camera. Up to 8 network cameras can be connected, at resolutions up to 8 MP.
- Recording up to 8 MP: 5 MP footage is encoded at up to 12 fps (frames per second).
- H.265 Pro+ compression: reduces storage requirements while keeping recording quality.
- 1U case: one rack unit high.
What else you need
- A SATA hard drive. The recorder takes one, up to 10 TB.
- PoC-compatible cameras, if you want power to travel over the coax. Only compatible cameras receive power this way.
- A monitor. HDMI and VGA outputs are fitted.
- A network connection. The Ethernet port enables remote viewing through Hik-Connect.
Extras
Line crossing and intrusion detection add basic perimeter alerts. Alarm input and output interfaces let you connect external alarm devices.
