Hikvision 4-ch 5mp 1U H.265 AcuSense DVR

The Hikvision 4-ch 5mp 1U H.265 AcuSense DVR (iDS-7204HQHI-M1/XT) is a digital video recorder with 4 channels and one hard disk drive (HDD) connection. It takes HDTVI, AHD, CVI, CVBS and IP signals, so an older analog install and newer cameras can sit on the same recorder.

What the specs mean in use

• Recording: up to 3K/5MP Lite at 12 fps. That is 12 frames per second, a lower rate than full-motion video.
• H.265 Pro+ compression. Video files are smaller, which eases load on the drive and the network.
• AcuSense. Deep learning sorts people and vehicles from other movement such as shadows, rain or animals, which cuts false alarms.
• Facial recognition or perimeter protection. Run 1 channel of facial recognition, or 2 channels of the advanced perimeter protection. Not both at once.
• 2-channel AcuSearch for searching recordings.
• Motion detection on every channel.

What else you need

• Storage: one SATA (the drive connection type) interface, up to 10TB.
• Cameras: it supports up to 4 analog channels and can support up to 6 IP cameras at up to 6MP.
• Audio: RCA connectors and coaxial cable carry audio. HDTVI two-way audio works on all channels with compatible cameras.
• Display: HDMI and VGA outputs run together at up to 1920 × 1080.
• Network: Ethernet for remote viewing and management.

Hikvision positions it for homes, shops and commercial sites.
