The Hikvision 32-ch 5MP1U H.265 AcuSense DVR (iDS-7232HQHI-M2/XT) has 32 analogue channels and takes up to 40 IP camera inputs in a 1U case. A DVR (digital video recorder) stores and plays back footage from cameras cabled to it.
What the specs mean in use
- Five input types, detected automatically: HDTVI, AHD, CVI, CVBS and IP. Existing analogue cameras can stay on their current cables.
- Up to 40 IP camera inputs, each up to 6MP. This leaves room to add network cameras later.
- Recording up to 5MP Lite and 4MP Lite, with encoding up to 3K/5MP Lite at 12fps. H.265 Pro+ compression improves storage efficiency and reduces bandwidth use.
- Decoding up to 24 × 1080p at 30fps.
- Monitor outputs: HDMI up to 4K, VGA up to Full HD.
AcuSense analytics
AcuSense uses deep learning to classify humans and vehicles, so shadows, animals and weather trigger fewer false alarms. Choose where to spend the analytics load: facial recognition on up to 4 channels, or perimeter protection (line crossing and intrusion detection) on up to 16 channels using the advanced model.
AcuSearch works across all 32 channels. Motion detection covers every channel, and two-way audio is supported on all HDTVI channels.
Storage and connections
Two SATA bays take drives of up to 12TB each, 24TB in total. Size them to your channel count and how long you need to keep footage.
Other connections: RS-485 for PTZ control, USB ports for backup and external devices, and Gigabit Ethernet. Remote access runs through Hik-Connect, and ONVIF-compatible platforms are supported.
