Product Description
The Hikvision 32-ch 1.5U 24 PoE 8K NVR (DS-7732NI-M4/24P) records up to 32 IP cameras and powers 24 of them directly. PoE (Power over Ethernet) sends power and data down one network cable, so those 24 cameras need no separate PoE switch. Cameras on the remaining channels need their own power source or a switch.
What the numbers mean in use
- Up to 32MP cameras. The recorder accepts very high-resolution IP cameras, not only 1080p models.
- 320 Mbps incoming, 400 Mbps outgoing. Mbps is megabits per second. With all 32 channels in use, that is an average of 10 Mbps incoming per camera.
- H.265+/H.265/H.264+/H.264 compression formats supported: These are video compression formats. H.265+ lowers the storage each camera needs.
- Decoding up to 32-ch@1080p. All 32 channels can be viewed at 1080p.
Screens, storage and control
Two HDMI outputs, one up to 8K and able to run independently, plus VGA and CVBS for older monitors.
Four SATA (Serial ATA) interfaces each support a drive of up to 16TB. Further capacity comes from eSATA, NAS (network attached storage) and iSCSI.
Two RS-485 interfaces carry control signals for PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) cameras. Up to 8 IP speakers can be connected. USB ports handle backup and peripherals.
The unit is 1.5U high. It is also listed as DS-7732NI-M4/24P-NO-HDD and DS-7732NI-M4/24P+NO-HDD.
