Product Description
The Prolux PXN-2104HS-4P/4K 4 Channel 8MP 4K PoE IP CCTV NVR records up to four network cameras and powers them from the same box. An NVR (network video recorder) stores footage from IP cameras. PoE (Power over Ethernet) sends power and video down a single network cable.
What each spec means in practice
- 4 channels, up to 8MP: four cameras, each up to 8 megapixels, which is the 4K class of picture.
- 4 built-in PoE ports: plug-and-play connection. Each camera needs one cable, with no separate PoE switch.
- 80 Mbps incoming bandwidth: the total video data the recorder can take in from all cameras together.
- HDMI and VGA outputs, up to 4K: connect a monitor for live view and playback. A 4K picture needs a 4K-capable display.
- H.265, H.264 and MPEG4 compression: these formats shrink video files, which affects how long footage lasts on the drive.
- ONVIF support: works with third-party ONVIF IP cameras, so you are not limited to one camera brand.
- VCA (video content analysis): intelligent detection and analytics to help with event monitoring.
- Dual operating system architecture: built for stable day-to-day operation.
What else you need
- Up to four IP cameras and a network cable for each.
- One SATA hard disk drive (HDD). The recorder supports one drive, so pick a capacity to suit how many days of footage you want to keep.
- A monitor with an HDMI or VGA input.
Remote monitoring works through compatible mobile apps and client software.
