Recording period: how many days does a kit in this range keep?
Three variables apply: drive capacity, number of cameras recording, and camera resolution. Guide figure per terabyte, continuous recording, 10 cameras: approximately 4 days at 4MP; approximately 2 days at 4K. Median for this range: 37 days. The estimate for each kit is stated on its card. Recording on motion only extends the period.
Channels and cameras: what is the difference?
Channels: the number of cameras a recorder can accept. Cameras: the quantity included in the kit. Spare channels: at least 6 on every recorder in this range. Spare channels allow cameras to be added later without replacing the recorder.

Ten-camera CCTV kits suit sites that need more coverage than a starter set: larger homes, shops, yards and small offices. The kits shown pair ten cameras with a 16-channel recorder, so six channels stay free for later additions.
What the specs mean
- 4MP, 5MP or 4K. MP is megapixels. A higher figure gives finer detail when you zoom into recorded footage, and it uses more storage.
- Turret or bullet. Turret cameras are compact domes, neat under eaves and ceilings. Bullet cameras are tube-shaped and more visible on a wall.
- 4TB to 16TB of storage. TB is terabytes. A larger drive keeps footage for longer before the oldest recordings are overwritten. Some kits use two drives.
- HiLook or Hikvision. Both brands appear across the range.
How to choose
Start with the detail you need to see, then size the drive to match. Higher resolution and a bigger drive go together. Some kits name the exact camera model, such as the DS-2CD1383G2 or DS-2CE78U0T turrets. These suit buyers who want a specific camera. Check the mounting style against each location before ordering.

How long will a recorder keep footage?
It depends on resolution, frame rate, compression and whether the system records constantly or only on motion. Sharper images and longer recording hours fill a drive sooner.
What does 2× 10TB mean in a kit name?
It means two separate 10TB drives are included for recording, rather than one single larger drive.
Is 4K the same as 8MP?
In CCTV, 4K normally means about 8 megapixels. It is the highest-detail option here, ahead of 4MP and 5MP.
