Unbranded – 16 Channel 5MP HYBRID Digital Video Recorder (DVR)

The Unbranded – 16 Channel 5MP HYBRID Digital Video Recorder (DVR), SKU XVR-3116HS-5MP-LITE, records up to 16 camera channels. "Hybrid" means one recorder takes both analogue cameras and network (IP) cameras.

What each spec means for your system

• 16 channels: up to 16 camera feeds on one unit.
• HDCVI, AHD, TVI, CVBS and IP inputs: analogue cameras in those formats and IP cameras can connect to the same recorder. Working analogue cameras can stay in place while IP cameras are added.
• Up to 12 IP channels, each up to 5MP: 5MP means five megapixels, the highest resolution per IP camera.
• 64 Mbps maximum incoming bandwidth: Mbps is megabits per second. This is the total data rate the recorder accepts. Higher-resolution IP cameras use more of it.
• H.265+/H.265 dual-stream compression: H.265 is a video compression format that keeps recordings smaller than older formats. Full-channel AI-Coding is also supported.
• SMD Plus on up to 8 analogue channels: smart motion detection, with motion detection and smart search for finding footage.

Connections and storage

HDMI and VGA outputs connect a monitor or display. Recordings go to an internal hard drive, and external storage devices are supported. You need a drive to record. Live and recorded footage can be viewed and played back remotely on a compatible device.

Planning note

Add up your IP cameras first. The limits are 12 IP channels and 64 Mbps of incoming bandwidth. You also need cameras and a hard drive to complete the system.
