Connectix TruLAN C6GFFHD-F00 Cat6A F/FTP Outdoor Network Cable PE

The Connectix TruLAN F/FTP Outdoor Network Cable, Cat6A PE (part number C6GFFHD-F00) is a shielded Cat6A cable with a polyethylene sheath, made for external and duct runs.

What each spec means on site

• Cat6A: the grade for high-bandwidth Ethernet. It suits links between network switches, patch panels and IP surveillance equipment.
• F/FTP (foil/foil-shielded twisted pair): each of the four pairs has its own foil wrap, and a second foil screen surrounds all of them. You get stronger protection against electromagnetic interference and alien crosstalk, which is signal picked up from neighbouring cables. That helps in electrically noisy buildings and crowded containment.
• 4-pair, 23AWG: four twisted pairs, with conductors sized at 23 American Wire Gauge.
• PE (polyethylene) outer sheath: heavy-duty, for external installations and ducting routes, with added mechanical protection and moisture resistance.

Where it fits

Outdoor runs between buildings, campus infrastructure and CCTV network deployments. It also suits switch-to-patch-panel links in professional IT and security cabling.

What else the link needs

The cable is only one part of a Cat6A link. Keep the switches, patch panels and connectors in the run at Cat6A as well. As this is a shielded cable, pair it with compatible shielded termination parts.
