Product Description
The Hikvision DS-2CD2H45FWD-IZS is a 4MP turret camera with a motorised varifocal lens, built for installers who need one camera to cover multiple fields of view without a site revisit.
What the specs mean on site
- 4MP (2688 × 1520) progressive scan CMOS sensor — sharper detail than 1080p, useful for reading plates or faces at moderate range.
- Motorised 2.8–12mm varifocal lens — zoom and focus are adjusted remotely (in the camera menu or VMS), giving a field of view from 114° wide to 32° telephoto. No need to physically refocus after mounting.
- Powered-by-DarkFighter low-light imaging — improved colour rendering after dark, paired with IR illumination up to 30m for full darkness coverage.
- 120 dB Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) — handles strong backlight, such as a doorway facing bright sky, without silhouetting the subject.
- Analytics on board: human detection, intrusion detection, and face detection, for more relevant alerts than plain motion.
- microSD slot, up to 128GB — local recording independent of a recorder, useful for standalone or backup storage.
Installation notes
Housing is IP66 weatherproof and IK10 vandal-resistant, so it's built for outdoor and exposed mounting positions. Power comes via PoE (802.3af) or 12V DC — for PoE runs, check your switch or NVR has enough power budget for this camera plus any others on the same run.
