The Hikvision DS-2DE4A425IW-DE 4MP 25× PTZ Network Camera IR 50m is a PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) camera. The head turns and zooms on command, so one unit can cover ground that would otherwise need several fixed cameras.
What each spec means on screen
- 4 MP, up to 2560 × 1440. A 1/2.8″ progressive scan CMOS sensor gives a sharp picture of a wide scene.
- 25× optical zoom, 4.8–120 mm motorised lens. Go from a wide view to a close view of a distant gate or vehicle. The extra 16× digital zoom enlarges the image electronically, so detail drops compared with optical zoom.
- 360° continuous pan, −5° to 90° tilt. The head keeps turning without a stop point.
- IR night vision to 50 m. IR (infrared) LEDs light the scene in complete darkness.
- 120 dB WDR. Wide dynamic range balances bright and dark areas in the same frame.
- IP66 housing. Weather-resistant and made for outdoor mounting.
- Built-in analytics. Intrusion detection, line-crossing detection and smart tracking.
What else you need
- Power: a PoE+ (Power over Ethernet) port or a 12V DC supply. On PoE+, the switch or injector must supply PoE+.
- Recording: a recorder that accepts H.265+, H.265 or H.264+ compression and 4 MP streams.
- Cabling: IR LEDs draw more current at night. A weak adapter or a long, poor cable run can cause flicker or a black image after dark.
