Product Description
The Hilook 4 MP Fixed Turret Camera (THC-T240-M-R) is a Turbo HD camera for indoor and outdoor CCTV. Here is what each spec means in use.
Specs in plain terms
- 4 MP, 2560 × 1440: four megapixels (MP) of recorded detail, suited to homes, shops, offices and building entrances.
- Night vision up to 40 metres: EXIR 2.0 with Smart IR (infrared). Colour by day, black-and-white infrared in darkness.
- Metal housing, IP66 weather-resistant: made for outdoor mounting.
- Fixed lens, 2.8 mm, 3.6 mm or 6 mm: depends on the variant supplied. 2.8 mm gives the widest view of the three. 6 mm gives the narrowest, for more distant subjects.
- Switchable output: TVI, AHD, CVI or CVBS, so it can feed a compatible DVR in the format the recorder takes.
- Power: 12V DC.
What else you need
- A compatible DVR (digital video recorder) with a channel for each camera. Set the DVR input to the format the camera is outputting.
- A stable 12V DC supply. The infrared LEDs draw more current at night. A weak adapter or a long, thin cable can cause voltage drop, flickering or a black image after dark.
- The right lens. The focal length is fixed, so choose it for the coverage you want before you install.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which video formats can the camera output?
The output is switchable between TVI, AHD, CVI and CVBS. Check which format your DVR is set to when commissioning.
Can I change the lens after installation?
No. The lens is fixed and comes as 2.8 mm, 3.6 mm or 6 mm, depending on the variant supplied.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. It has a metal housing and an IP66 weather-resistant rating, and it is designed for indoor and outdoor installations.
Why might the image flicker or go black at night?
A common cause is an unstable or underrated power supply, or a long cable run. The infrared LEDs draw more current in darkness, so voltage drop shows up at night.
