Product Description
The Hikvision 8MP Motorized Varifocal PoE Turret Camera (DS-2CD2H83G0-IZS-2.8-12MM) puts power and video on one Ethernet cable, and you set the view from software rather than by moving the camera.
What the specs mean on screen
- 8MP, 3840 × 2160. A 1/2.5" progressive scan CMOS sensor gives an ultra-high-definition picture for identifying people and vehicles on commercial, industrial and perimeter sites.
- 2.8–12mm lens, remote zoom and focus. The horizontal field of view runs from 105° at wide angle to 34.5° at telephoto. Wide covers an area; telephoto narrows in on a specific spot.
- Infrared (IR) night vision to 30m. Built-in IR lighting keeps the scene visible in complete darkness.
- 120 dB true Wide Dynamic Range (WDR). Bright and dark areas in the same frame are balanced, which helps at entrances and in backlit scenes.
- Analytics. Line crossing, intrusion detection and face detection.
- Housing. Metal, rated IP67 weatherproof and IK10 for impact.
What else you need
- Power: Power over Ethernet (PoE) to IEEE 802.3af. Use a PoE switch or a recorder with PoE ports.
- Recording: a microSD slot up to 128GB records locally. H.265+ compression reduces bandwidth and storage use, whether you record to the card or a recorder.
- Recorder channels: each camera needs one channel on an IP recorder.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this camera powered?
It uses Power over Ethernet to IEEE 802.3af, so power and network share one Ethernet cable. You need a PoE switch or a recorder with PoE ports.
Can it record without a recorder?
It has a built-in microSD card slot that supports cards up to 128GB for local recording.
How wide and how narrow can the view be set?
Horizontal field of view is 105° at the 2.8mm wide end and 34.5° at the 12mm telephoto end, adjusted remotely.
Why might the image flicker or go black at night?
IR LEDs draw more power at night, so an unstable supply or a long, poor-quality cable can cause flicker. Check the power source and cable first.
