Product Description
The Hikvision DS-2CD2085G1-I 8MP DarkFighter PoE IP Bullet Camera 2.8mm IP67 is a fixed network camera for outdoor sites and poor light. Here is what each headline spec means on screen.
Picture and lens
- 8MP, 3840 × 2160: about four times the pixels of a 1080p camera, so there is more detail to review.
- Fixed 2.8mm lens, approx. 102° horizontal field of view: a wide view that suits entrances, car parks and building exteriors. The focal length is fixed.
Night and glare
- DarkFighter: low-light technology that gives usable colour images in very low light.
- IR night vision to 30m: built-in infrared (IR) lighting for complete darkness.
- 120dB true WDR (Wide Dynamic Range): keeps both bright sunlight and shadow readable in one scene.
Power and housing
- PoE (Power over Ethernet, IEEE 802.3af) or 12V DC: one network cable can carry power and video.
- IP67 weatherproof metal bullet housing: rated against dust and water ingress.
- H.265+ compression: lower bandwidth and storage use.
What you need to run it
- A Hikvision NVR (network video recorder) or ONVIF-compatible video management platform with a free channel.
- A free PoE port on the recorder, a PoE switch or injector, or a 12V DC supply.
- A hard drive sized for how long you want to keep footage.
Motion detection, video tampering and intelligent events are built in.

Frequently Asked Questions
How far does the night vision reach?
The built-in infrared illumination covers up to 30 metres. DarkFighter low-light technology adds usable colour images in very low light.
How is the DS-2CD2085G1-I powered?
It runs on PoE (IEEE 802.3af) or 12V DC. PoE carries power and network over one Ethernet cable.
Does it work with third-party recorders?
It integrates with Hikvision NVR systems and ONVIF-compatible video management platforms.
Why might the image flicker or go black at night?
Infrared LEDs draw more power at night, so a weak power adapter or a long, poor-quality cable can cause voltage drop. A stuck IR cut filter is another possible cause.
