Product Description
The CAT6 RJ45 Patch Cable 10m White PVC UTP Snagless Gigabit Ethernet CCA Lead (SKU RJ45-NETWORK-CABLE-CAT6-10M-W) arrives pre-terminated, so there is no crimping. Plug in both ends and it works.
What each spec means in use
- 10m, RJ45 male at both ends: spans a rack to a wall outlet, or an NVR (network video recorder) to an operator workstation.
- T568B straight-through: connects a switch, NVR, router, PC or console directly. No crossover adapter is needed.
- 1000Base-T, up to 100m: Gigabit Ethernet, 1000Mbps, enough for IP camera streams, VoIP calls and file transfers.
- CAT6, 250MHz bandwidth: exceeds CAT5e and stays backward compatible with it, so it fits mixed Gigabit and Fast Ethernet networks.
- 24AWG stranded CCA: CCA is Copper Clad Aluminium, a cheaper construction than pure copper. Stranded conductors keep the lead flexible for frequent reconnection.
- UTP: unshielded twisted pair, suited to indoor interference from nearby power cables and CCTV equipment.
- Snagless boots, gold-plated contacts: the boots protect the clips when you insert into racks or patch panels.
- White PVC jacket: a clean look where the cable stays visible.
Where CCA is the wrong choice
This lead is made for non-critical horizontal runs where pure copper is not specified. It is not recommended for PoE++ or 10GBase-T backbone applications. For those, choose pure copper cable.
You will also need Gigabit-capable RJ45 ports on the equipment at each end.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use this lead for PoE++ or 10GBase-T?
No. The CCA construction is not recommended for PoE++ or 10GBase-T backbone applications. Choose pure copper cable for those.
Do I need a crossover adapter?
No. Both ends are RJ45 male wired T568B straight-through, so it connects switches, NVRs, routers and PCs directly.
What does CCA mean?
Copper Clad Aluminium. The 24AWG conductors are a cost-optimised alternative to pure copper, intended for non-critical horizontal runs.
Will it work with CAT5e equipment?
Yes. It is backward compatible with CAT5e, so it fits mixed Gigabit and Fast Ethernet networks.
