Product Description
The 3m White Cat6 Ethernet Cable - High-Speed RJ45 Network Patch Lead (SKU RJ45-NETWORK-CABLE-CAT6-3M-W) links two network devices up to 3m (9.84ft) apart. Both ends are RJ45 male plugs, the eight-contact connector used on network sockets.
What each spec means in use
- Cat6, 250MHz supported bandwidth: the grade for home and office networks, CCTV systems and internet connections, including video streaming and large file transfers.
- U/UTP (unshielded twisted pair): no metal screen. The twisted pairs are there to limit electromagnetic interference.
- 24AWG copper conductors: AWG is American Wire Gauge, a measure of conductor thickness. Attenuation (signal loss) is 32.8dB per 100m at 250MHz.
- Gold-plated copper alloy pins in a polycarbonate housing, each plug measuring 11.6 × 22.8 × 8.3mm (0.46 × 0.90 × 0.33in).
- White PVC jacket, 5.8mm (0.23in) diameter: it sits tidily against light trunking or walls.
- Minimum bend radius 69mm (2.72in): keep curves wider than this when routing.
- Operating temperature -10°C to 60°C (14°F to 140°F). Storage: -20°C to 75°C.
What else you need
You need a device with an RJ45 socket at each end, such as a camera, recorder, switch or router. If a camera takes its power over the cable, the switch or injector must supply Power over Ethernet (PoE). For gaps longer than 3m, choose a longer cable.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this Cat6 patch lead shielded?
No. It is U/UTP, which means unshielded twisted pair, so there is no metal screen.
What is the minimum bend radius?
69mm (2.72in). Route the cable in curves wider than this.
What temperatures can it operate in?
Operating range is -10°C to 60°C (14°F to 140°F). Storage range is -20°C to 75°C (-4°F to 167°F).
How long is the cable and what are the connectors?
It is 3m (9.84ft) long with an RJ45 male connector at each end.
