Product Description
Fifteen metres (49.2 ft) of cable lets you link two devices that sit in different rooms or at opposite ends of a space. The 15m Cat6 Ethernet Cable - High-Speed RJ45 Network Patch Lead (White) is made for CCTV systems, home networks and office setups.
What the specs mean in use
- Cat6, 650 MHz: the cable's rated signal bandwidth, intended for high-speed data such as streaming and gaming.
- 4 pair UTP: four wire pairs in an unshielded twisted pair (UTP) construction.
- 24 AWG stranded copper: AWG is American Wire Gauge. Stranded conductors keep the lead flexible, which helps when routing in tight spaces.
- Cable size: 1.3 cm (0.5 in) wide and 1.6 cm (0.6 in) high. Compare this with any wall hole, conduit or gap on your route.
- RJ-45 at both ends, gold-plated: RJ-45 is the plug used for Ethernet sockets.
- Snagless: the connector design is intended to stop the plug catching as the cable is pulled into position.
- T568B wiring: the cable follows TIA/EIA-568-B.1-2001.
- PVC jacket, CMG rated: a general-purpose fire rating.
- Colour: white.
What else you need
You need a device with an RJ-45 port at each end, such as a recorder, router or switch. The lead is one fixed 15 m piece, so measure the actual route round corners and along walls, not the straight-line distance.
The pack contains one 15 m white snagless Cat6 UTP patch cable, ETL Verified. Product weight is 0.7 kg (1.4 lb). Shipping weight is also 0.7 kg (1.4 lb), in a package measuring 33.0 x 25.0 x 4.0 cm.
