4m White Cat6 Ethernet Cable - High-Speed RJ45 Network Patch Lead

The 4m White Cat6 Ethernet Cable - High-Speed RJ45 Network Patch Lead (SKU RJ45-NETWORK-CABLE-CAT6-4M-W) is one 4 m cable with an RJ-45 plug on each end. It links two network devices that sit a few metres apart, such as equipment in a home network, an office setup or a CCTV system.

What each spec means in use

• Cat6: the category rating for high-speed network and internet connections.
• U/UTP: unshielded twisted pair. There is no screen around the pairs.
• 4 m length: one fixed length. Measure the route the cable will actually take, not the straight-line gap.
• RJ-45, male/male: a plug at both ends, so each device needs an RJ-45 socket.
• Snagless boots: a moulded cover over the connector clip, so it is less likely to catch when you handle or move the cable.
• 24 AWG stranded copper: AWG is American Wire Gauge, the conductor size. Stranded conductors are made of many fine strands.
• LSZH jacket: low smoke zero halogen outer sheath.
• White: a plain finish that suits visible runs.

What else you need

Two devices with RJ-45 ports, such as a router, switch, recorder, camera or PC. If your route is longer than 4 m, you will need a longer lead, because this cable is not extendable.
