Product Description
The Cat6 Ethernet Network Cable 40m White RJ45 LAN Patch Lead is a ready-made cable for linking two network devices that sit in different rooms or cabinets.
What the specs mean in practice
- 40 metres: built for devices in separate rooms or network cabinets in a home, office or commercial building.
- Cat6 (Category 6): supports Gigabit Ethernet data transmission on a LAN (local area network).
- RJ45 8P8C connectors on both ends: 8P8C means eight positions, eight contacts. The cable is pre-terminated, so you plug it in. No crimping tools are needed.
- White jacket: made for indoor network setups, and it suits runs along walls or trunking.
What it connects
It links routers, switches, PCs, network storage devices, IP (internet protocol) cameras and NVR (network video recorder) systems. That makes it useful for home networks, office networks and CCTV installations.
What else you need
Each end of the cable needs a free Ethernet port. For a CCTV run, that means an IP camera at one end and a switch or NVR network port at the other.
