Product Description
The Cat6 Ethernet Cable, Gigabit RJ45 20m, Black - High-Speed LAN Patch Cable (SKU RJ45-NETWORK-CABLE-CAT6-20M-BLACK) is a 20m (65.62ft) lead with an RJ45 male connector on each end. Use it to link a router, switch, recorder or camera position that sits too far away for a short lead.
What the specs mean for you
- Up to 1000Mbps (gigabit). Suits gigabit network ports and is backward compatible with Cat5 devices.
- 250MHz bandwidth. Attenuation (signal loss) is rated at 32.8dB per 100m at 250MHz.
- UTP construction. Unshielded twisted pair: no shielding layer is fitted.
- 24AWG copper conductors. AWG is American Wire Gauge, a measure of conductor thickness.
- 5.8mm black PVC jacket. The slim design, just over 1mm in height, lets it slide under carpets, floors or behind furniture.
- Gold-plated copper alloy pins in polycarbonate connector housings, each 11.6 × 22.8 × 8.3mm.
Fitting it
Keep bends no tighter than the 69mm minimum bend radius. The operating range is -10°C to 60°C, and storage is rated from -20°C to 75°C.
Both devices need an RJ45 port. Check whether the connected devices support and require PoE (Power over Ethernet) or need separate power.
The cable is RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances), REACH, UL and California Proposition 65 certificated. It is supplied in a polybag.
