Product Description
The Hikvision DS-3E0510P-E 8-Port Gigabit PoE Unmanaged Network Switch connects and powers up to eight devices, one network cable each. PoE (Power over Ethernet) carries power and data together, so IP cameras and wireless access points need no separate power adapter.
What the specs mean for your install
- 8 × Gigabit PoE ports. One cable per camera or access point.
- IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at. Both PoE levels are supported, up to 30 W on a single port.
- 110 W total PoE budget. This is the real limit. Eight ports at 30 W would need 240 W, so add up the rated draw of your devices and keep the total within 110 W.
- 1 × Gigabit RJ45 uplink and 1 × Gigabit SFP uplink. Link back to the main network by copper, or by fibre through the SFP (small form-factor pluggable) port.
- 20 Gbps switching capacity, 14.88 Mpps forwarding rate. Mpps means million packets per second. The switch uses store-and-forward switching.
- 4K MAC address table. MAC (media access control) addresses identify each connected device.
- 6 kV surge protection on the PoE ports.
Setting it up
This is a Layer-2 unmanaged switch. There is nothing to configure: connect your devices and it works. The metal case is fan-free, so it runs silently, and it can sit on a desk or mount on a wall.
You will still need PoE-capable cameras or access points, and a network connection for the uplink.
