Product Description
The Hikvision 16-Port PoE Switch, 130 W Power Budget (DS-3E0318P-E/M(B)) is an unmanaged switch that powers and connects up to 16 PoE devices from one cabinet. PoE (Power over Ethernet) sends power and data down the same network cable, so each camera needs only one run.
What the specs mean on site
- 16 × 10/100 Mbps PoE ports: Fast Ethernet connections for IP cameras, wireless access points and other PoE devices.
- IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at: both PoE standards are supported, with up to 30 W per port.
- About 130 W total PoE budget: this is the limit for the whole switch. Add up the draw of every device you plan to connect and keep the total under 130 W.
- Extend mode: PoE transmission up to 300 m when enabled, for cameras a long way from the cabinet.
- Uplinks: 1 × Gigabit RJ45 and 1 × Gigabit SFP (small form-factor pluggable) fibre port, for connecting to a recorder, a larger switch or a fibre backbone.
Switching and build
It uses store-and-forward switching, with a switching capacity of about 7.2 Gbps and a forwarding rate of about 5.356 Mpps (million packets per second). The enclosure is metal and fan-free, so it runs quietly in a cabinet, control room or office.
What else you need
You need a PoE-compatible IP camera or device for each port in use, network cable to each, and a recorder or network to connect to the uplink. Check each camera's power draw against the 130 W budget before you plan the layout.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many cameras can this switch power?
It has 16 PoE ports, but the total PoE budget is about 130 W, so the number you can run depends on each device's power draw.
What is the maximum power per port?
Up to 30 W per PoE port, with IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at supported.
Can it run cameras 300 m away?
Long-range PoE transmission up to 300 m is available when Extend mode is enabled.
Is this a managed switch?
No. The DS-3E0318P-E/M(B) is an unmanaged switch.
