Texecom CGA-0001 Premier Elite 12-W Control Panel

The Texecom CGA-0001 Premier Elite 12-W Control Panel is the central unit of an intruder alarm. It receives signals from detectors and decides when to raise the alarm. Here is what each headline spec means in practice.

What the numbers give you

• 8 on-board zones, expandable to 12. A zone is one detection circuit. You get eight to start with, and the panel can grow to twelve.
• 2 on-board outputs, expandable to 22. Outputs switch connected equipment on and off, such as a sounder.
• 1.5A regulated PSU (power supply unit). It supports a 7Ah sealed lead-acid battery for standby power.
• 243 × 205 × 85 mm. That is roughly 24 × 20 × 8.5 cm, a compact housing for a panel with this zone count.
• EN50131 Grade 2, Environmental Class II. EN50131 is the European standard for intruder alarm systems. Grade 2 is the level set for professional installations.

What else the system needs

The panel works with Premier Elite expanders and Ricochet wireless devices, so wired and wireless zones can share one controller. For remote signalling, it is compatible with Texecom communicators and the SmartCom IP module. Programming and diagnostics use Wintex software.

It suits homes, small shops, offices and commercial sites, and it can replace or extend an existing Premier Elite system.
