Product Description

The Seagate 1TB - HDD 3.5" SATA Hard Drives for 24/7 continuous recording (SKU HDD-1TB-SEAGATE-SLIM-R, MPN ST1000VM002) is a Seagate Pipeline HD SATA video hard drive. It is built to sit inside a recorder and write video around the clock.

What the specs mean

1TB capacity: 1,000GB of space for footage. Seagate quotes up to 1,000 hours of video storage. Your real recording time depends on the number of cameras and the bitrate each one records at.
3.5-inch form factor: the full-size drive used in DVRs (digital video recorders) and NVRs (network video recorders).
SATA III interface: the connection to the recorder's drive bay. SATA stands for Serial ATA.
Ultra-quiet, low heat output: useful where a recorder sits in a living space or a small cupboard.
Built-in error recovery: the drive can recover from read errors during continuous use.

Before you buy

You need a recorder with a free 3.5-inch SATA bay. The drive is listed as compatible with DVR and NVR surveillance systems.

Seagate also positions it for home cinema systems and IPTV (internet protocol television) set-top boxes. It works in desktops, servers, NAS (network-attached storage) devices and external enclosures too, so it can be reused for general data storage later.

It is available for installation with any of our CCTV kits and packages.
