Product Description
The 1TB - HDD 3.5" SATA Hard Drives for 24/7 continuous recording (SKU HDD-1TB-Pre-installed) is an internal hard disk drive (HDD). It stores CCTV footage inside a compatible recorder.
Key specs
- Capacity: 1TB. That is more room for recordings than a 500GB drive.
- Size: 3.5" internal drive.
- Interface: SATA (Serial ATA), the connection type used between drive and recorder.
- Use: replaces an existing drive, or adds storage to a recorder supplied without one.
- Installation: offered free with any CCTV kit or package.
How long will 1TB record for?
There is no single figure. Recording time depends on the number of cameras, the resolution, the frame rate, the video compression and the recording schedule. Motion-triggered recording cuts out unnecessary footage, which can help the drive hold recordings for longer.
Check before you buy
Your DVR (digital video recorder) or NVR (network video recorder) must accept this drive. Confirm three things in its manual or spec sheet:
- It supports a SATA drive.
- It has room for a 3.5" drive.
- Its hard drive requirements match what you are fitting.
The drive suits compatible home and business CCTV systems.
