Hikvision DS-1280ZJ-M Junction Box for Dome Cameras, Indoor & Outdoor Use, Load Capacity 4.5kg, White

The Hikvision DS-1280ZJ-M is a mounting junction box for compatible Hikvision dome CCTV cameras, built to hold the camera to a wall or ceiling while keeping cable connections out of sight.

What the spec means on site

• Load capacity up to 4.5kg — check this against your dome camera's weight before fixing it to plasterboard or a similar surface; the box itself is rated to carry that much.
• Aluminium alloy construction — gives the enclosure structural stability while keeping the overall unit light enough for wall or ceiling mounting.
• Bottom cable entry — network and power cables run up into the box from below, so connectors sit inside the housing rather than trailing across the wall.
• Indoor and outdoor use — the same box works whether the dome camera is mounted inside a hallway or on an external wall.
• White finish — matches the housing colour used on most Hikvision dome cameras, so the mounting point doesn't stand out.

Fitting it into a system

This is a mechanical accessory, not a powered device — it doesn't add PoE (Power over Ethernet) budget or recorder channels of its own. It simply houses the cable joins for one dome camera, so plan your cable run and connector work before closing it up. Also listed under the model code DS-1280ZJ-M.
