CQR 8 Core LSF Low Smoke Full Copper Alarm Cable 100m – White (CAB8/WH/LSF/100M)

The CQR 8 Core LSF Low Smoke Full Copper Alarm Cable 100m – White (CAB8/WH/LSF/100M) is a 100m reel of eight-core cable for installations where signal integrity is essential.

What each spec means in practice

• 8 cores: eight separate conductors inside one cable, so a single run can carry several connections.
• 7 x 0.182mm tinned copper: each conductor is built from seven strands of 0.182mm copper with a tin coating. The copper is full copper throughout.
• Low Smoke & Fume (LSF) jacket: the outer sheath is a low smoke and fume type, chosen for buildings where smoke from burning cable matters.
• Unscreened: there is no screening layer around the cores. Where a route passes close to heavy electrical interference, a screened cable is the usual alternative.
• White jacket, 100m reel: one reel gives 100m in total.

Standards

The cable is manufactured to BS4737-3.30:2015 Type 2. It is also fully compliant with EN50575, the cable standard under the Construction Products Regulation (CPR). Both are useful references if a specification or handover document asks for them.

Before you order

Measure each cable run from panel to device, add the runs together, then divide by 100m to see how many reels you need. Allow extra for routing around corners and for termination at each end.
