Product Description
The SMOKE ALARM Spycam (SKU SPY-CAM-SMOKE-ALARM) is a covert camera built into a smoke-alarm style enclosure. From the room, it looks like an ordinary ceiling-mounted alarm rather than a camera.
What you are getting
- Camera type: covert, with the camera built into the housing
- Enclosure: smoke-alarm style, so it blends into a ceiling
- Intended position: ceiling
A ceiling position gives a high, overhead view of a room. The alarm-style shape is a common choice where a visible camera would be out of place or would change how people behave.
Using it lawfully in the UK
Covert recording in the UK must have a clear justification. It must also be handled in line with UK GDPR (the UK General Data Protection Regulation) and the ICO (Information Commissioner's Office) guidance on surveillance.
Before you fit one, write down why covert recording is needed. Also decide who will see the footage and how long you will keep it. Doing this first makes it much easier to show that your use is justified and proportionate.
