Product Description

The Pyronix SMOKE decetor WE2 (SMOKE-WE2) is a second-generation wireless optical smoke detector. It is designed to work with compatible Pyronix alarm systems, so you need one of those as the panel it reports to.

What the specs mean in use

  • Photoelectric sensor: detects smoke entering the sensing chamber.
  • 85dB sounder and flashing LEDs: a local warning at the detector. dB is decibels. LED is light-emitting diode.
  • Encrypted two-way radio on 868MHz: it links to the panel without signal cabling. MHz is megahertz.
  • Low-battery supervision: the radio module's battery status is reported to the control panel.
  • Front and rear tamper protection, plus a test button and visual status indicators.

Batteries

The detector has two power sources. The sensor battery has a stated lifespan of 10 years. The radio runs from a separate, replaceable CR123A battery, which lasts around two years. The radio battery is the one to plan for.

Size

The housing is circular: 120mm across and 52.45mm deep. It is intended for suitable residential installations.
