Product Description

The Prolux CCTV Video Balun Push-In Connector HD-TVI AHD CVI (SKU BALUN-PUSH-BLACK-2MP-PROLUX) lets a camera's video signal travel over twisted pair network cable instead of coax.

What the specs mean on site

  • Passive balun. It adds no power of its own, so the camera still needs its own supply.
  • HD-TVI, AHD, CVI and analog. It handles all four signal types, so the camera and recorder must use one of them.
  • Up to 1080p. That is 1920 × 1080 pixels. Higher-resolution cameras are outside what this balun is listed for.
  • Push-in terminal. You press the conductors in rather than screwing them down, which speeds up termination.
  • BNC connector. The BNC (Bayonet Neill–Concelman) plug connects to the camera or the DVR (digital video recorder).
  • Cat5e or Cat6 UTP. UTP is unshielded twisted pair cable. This is the cable the balun is designed for.

What else you need

  • Cat5e or Cat6 UTP cable for the run.
  • A camera and DVR that use HD-TVI, AHD, CVI or analog video.
  • A separate power feed for the camera.

The compact body suits tidy installations. It is listed for long-distance video runs, so it is a sensible choice where coax would be awkward to pull.
