Product Description
The Hikvision DVR WiFi Adapter DS-3WR3X-1, USB 2.4GHz WiFi 6 gives a compatible Hikvision DVR (digital video recorder) or NVR (network video recorder) a wireless network connection. It suits recorders where a network cable is not practical or cost-effective to run.
What each spec means in practice
- WiFi 6 (IEEE 802.11ax), backward compatible with 802.11b/g/n: it works with the older b/g/n versions of WiFi as well.
- 2.4GHz, single band: there is no 5GHz option. The 2.4GHz band offers improved signal penetration through walls.
- USB 2.0, driver-free: plug it into the recorder's USB port. No driver installation is needed on supported Hikvision recorders.
- Up to 20 Mbps (megabits per second) to the recorder: enough for remote access, system updates and event transmission. It is not meant for continuous multi-channel streaming.
- Station mode and Soft AP: Station mode joins the recorder to your existing WiFi network as a client. Soft AP (access point) mode is for local configuration.
- WPA/WPA2 security: the wireless link is protected with these encryption schemes.
- 21×15×7.7mm, internal antenna: small enough to sit discreetly inside an equipment rack or secure enclosure.
What else you need
- A supported Hikvision DVR or NVR with a USB 2.0 port. Support covers specific model series and newer firmware platforms, so check your recorder first.
- An existing WiFi network for the adapter to join in Station mode.
This adapter connects the recorder only. It does not provide wireless transmission for IP cameras.
Also listed as GR-DS-3WR3X-1-LN.
