DC Male Red & Black Power Pigtail 15cm 5.5x2.1mm Barrel Plug CCTV

The DC Male Red & Black Power Pigtail 15cm 5.5x2.1mm Barrel Plug CCTV is a male barrel plug on a short pair of leads. It connects a camera's female DC jack to a power supply unit (PSU) output.

What the specs mean

• 5.5mm outer diameter (OD) x 2.1mm inner diameter (ID) plug. It mates with female DC jacks on analogue and hybrid cameras. Centre-positive polarity.
• Red positive, black negative. The coloured leads make polarity easy to check before you connect to the PSU.
• 18-22AWG wire. AWG is American Wire Gauge. The leads carry up to 2A continuous, with no significant drop on short runs.
• Rated 12-24VDC. DC is direct current. It suits single camera feeds from a multi-output PSU.
• 15cm length. Short enough for PSU-to-junction-box wiring or tight spaces behind dome and turret housings.
• Pre-stripped ends. Terminate with crimps, solder, screw terminals or Wago blocks.
• PVC insulation, IP20 rated. That means indoor or protected use. For outdoor positions, keep the joint inside an IP65 or higher enclosure.

What else you need

A 12V or 24V supply with a free output for each camera, sized to the camera's current draw. Infrared (IR) cameras draw more at night, so check the load with IR on. Pair it with a female lead if you want a male-to-female jumper for offset positioning, up to 1m.

It is used with Hikvision, Dahua and generic analogue HD-TVI, AHD and CVI cameras.
