Product Description
The CAT6/CAT5e RJ45 Ethernet Cable - Fast Speed LAN Lead for Router, PC, PS4, CCTV (SKU RJ45-NETWORK-CABLE-CAT6-25M-BLACK) is a 25-metre black network lead. It carries data between two devices that each have an Ethernet port.
What the specs mean in practice
| Spec | What you get |
|---|---|
| 25 m length | One unbroken run, so no joining shorter leads. Measure the route the cable will take, not the straight-line distance. |
| CAT6/CAT5e | Rated for high-speed data transfer, enough for streaming and bandwidth-heavy use on a LAN (local area network). |
| Gold-plated RJ45 connectors | RJ45 is the wide, clip-in plug found on routers, PCs and games consoles. |
| Black finish | Low-profile appearance that blends into most rooms. |
| Economy grade | A straightforward cable, built to cope with daily use. |
| Indoor and outdoor use | Designed to handle both environments. |
What else you need
- An Ethernet port on each device. Routers, PCs and the PS4 all have one.
- For CCTV (closed-circuit television), a camera and recorder that connect by RJ45 Ethernet.
- A separate plan for camera power. This lead is sold for data transfer.
It suits home and office networking, extending a Wi-Fi setup with a wired connection, and linking security cameras over a longer distance.
