Texecom AKC-0006 Capture Q20 Quad PIR Motion Detector Grade 2 Black

The Texecom AKC-0006 Capture Q20 Quad PIR Motion Detector Grade 2 Black is a wired motion detector for intruder alarm systems. PIR stands for passive infrared: it senses movement through changes in heat.

What the specs mean in a room

• Up to 20m range, 90° coverage. Suits a hallway or a room when mounted to look across the space.
• Quad element pyro sensor. Several sensing elements work together to improve detection accuracy.
• Digital temperature compensation. Sensitivity adjusts automatically as ambient temperature changes.
• Optional PetWise mode. Reduces false alarms from small animals where pets share the home.
• EN50131-2-2 Grade 2. Meets the requirements for residential and light commercial intruder alarm installations.
• Black housing, wall mounted at roughly 1.5m to 3m, in indoor protected areas.

What else you need

This is an alarm detector, not a camera, so it connects to an intruder alarm panel rather than a CCTV recorder. Because it is wired, plan a cable run from each detector position back to the panel. Check that the panel has a spare zone for it. Match the panel's grading to the Grade 2 rating if your installation specification asks for it.
