The LifeSmart Smart Home Starter Kit Home Automation Hub Motion Door Sensor Apple HomeKit (SKU Lifesmart-Smart-Home-Starter-Set) is one hub and four sensors. It contains no cameras, so it adds detection, alerts and automation rather than video.

What is in the box

• 1 × Smart Station hub. Every sensor connects through it.
• 2 × Cube Motion Sensors. PIR (passive infrared) motion detection plus light sensing. Use them to switch on lights or trigger an alert.
• 1 × Cube Door/Window Sensor. Magnetic and vibration detection, so it reacts to an opening and to tampering.
• 1 × Cube Environmental Sensor. Reads temperature, humidity and light, and shows them on an LCD (liquid crystal display).

What you get from it

Each sensor can trigger an automation rule or send a notification to your smartphone. One example: heating can be activated when the environmental sensor sees the temperature drop.

What else you need

A smartphone with the LifeSmart app. For Apple HomeKit control, add the devices to the Apple Home app. You can then use the Apple Home app or Siri voice commands.

Setup is tool-free. Download the app, add each device, then place the sensors where you want them. The kit is described as expandable, so further LifeSmart devices can be added later.
