The Hikvision Video Intercom Kit, 2-Wire Analog, Surface Mount (DS-KIS101-P/Surface) lets a visitor call from the door while you see and answer from an indoor station. Here is what each headline spec means in practice.
Spec by spec
- 2-wire connection: power and communication share the same two wires. It is plug and play, and suits upgrades where network cabling is not available.
- Surface-mount door station: it fixes to the face of the wall.
- One-touch nametag button: the visitor presses once to call, and the nametag shows who they are calling.
- IP65 and IK07: IP (Ingress Protection) 65 gives the outdoor station weather protection. IK07 is its impact rating. Both suit an external entrance.
- Two lock relay outputs: a relay is a switch the intercom uses to trigger a lock. You get two for door control.
- 12V 1A lock supply: the kit can power one electric lock up to 12V 1A, so that lock needs no separate power supply.
- Power adapter: included in the kit.
What else you need
An electric lock to release. To power it from the kit, choose one rated up to 12V 1A. You also need a two-wire cable run between the door station and the indoor station.
When a visitor calls, the indoor station shows the video call. From there you can talk to them and unlock the connected door.
