GP Recyko AA Rechargeable Batteries (2100mAh)

The GP Recyko AA Rechargeable Batteries (2100mAh) are nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) cells in the AA size, also marked LR6 or HR6. Each cell is 1.2V, which is the normal nominal voltage for NiMH.

What the numbers mean

• 2100mAh capacity. mAh is milliamp-hours. 2100mAh is 2.1Ah, so a cell could in theory supply 2.1 amps for an hour. Higher figures generally mean longer running between charges.
• Up to 500 recharges. One cell can replace a long run of disposables.
• 70% charge kept after 60 months unused. Cells left in a drawer or a spares kit stay usable. Because they arrive pre-charged, they can go straight into a device.

Where they fit

GP lists these for CCTV cameras, remote controls and other household gadgets, and for high-drain devices that need a steady supply. They also suit emergency kit, given how well they hold charge in storage.

What else you need

NiMH cells need a charger made for NiMH AA cells. A charger is not part of this product. Check the device's battery compartment too, as 1.2V cells sit slightly below the 1.5V of single-use AA cells.
