25M CAT6 RJ45 Ethernet Network Cable (Blue)

The CAT6 RJ45 Ethernet Cable, 25m Blue Patch Lead (SKU RJ45-NETWORK-CABLE-CAT6-25M-BLU) is a 25-metre network cable in blue. It is listed for CCTV systems, home and office networking, and general internet connections.

What the specs mean

• 25 metres: enough length to link devices in different rooms or across a larger space with one cable.
• CAT6: short for Category 6, a cable specification aimed at high data transfer speeds and reliable connections.
• RJ45: the standard Ethernet plug type. It fits the network ports on devices such as recorders, switches and routers.
• Indoor and outdoor: the build is described as suitable for both.
• Flexible: it routes through tight spaces, which helps keep an installation tidy.
• Blue: easy to tell apart from other cables on a rack or in a cupboard.

What else you need

The cable only carries the connection. For a CCTV job you still need the devices at each end: a camera with an Ethernet port and a recorder or network switch with a free port. Check that your equipment's ports are RJ45 before you order.

For a longer route than 25 metres, plan the layout first rather than joining cables mid-run.
