Product Description
The HLT-323 Coaxial Cable Stripper Tool for RG59 RG6 CCTV Cable removes the outer jacket and the dielectric (the insulating layer around the centre conductor) so the cable is ready for a BNC connector. BNC is the bayonet-style plug used on most analogue CCTV and HD-over-coax equipment.
Cable it covers
- RG59
- RG6
- RG7
- RG11
These are the coax types used for analogue CCTV and for HD-over-coax formats, including HD-TVI, AHD and CVI.
Why the blade depth is adjustable
You set how far the blades cut. Too deep and they nick the braided shield or the centre conductor. Too shallow and the jacket will not pull clear. With the depth matched to the cable, the jacket and dielectric come off while the shield and conductor stay intact. A clean strip is where a reliable BNC termination starts.
Build and where it fits
The housing is compact ABS plastic, so the tool is light in the hand and small enough to use inside network cabinets and junction boxes.
What you still need
This tool prepares the cable only. You will also need BNC connectors that suit the cable you are running, plus the fitting method for those connectors.
