Dahua Slim Waterproof RFID Access Control Reader -ASR1200D

The Dahua ASR1200D Slim Waterproof RFID Access Reader, IP65 reads a card presented to it and passes the result to your door controller. RFID stands for radio-frequency identification. This is a reader only, so a controller must make the door decision.

Each spec, and what it means at the door

• IP65, waterproof design. IP stands for ingress protection. The rating means dust-tight and protected against water jets, so the reader can sit on an exterior door in the rain.
• 13.56MHz (Mifare) and 125KHz (EM-ID). One reader handles both card types.
• RS485 or Wiegand. These are two ways to connect to the controller. RS485 is a serial data link. Wiegand is a card-data signal format. Wiegand 34 is the default, and Wiegand 26 is also supported.
• Red, blue and green indicator LEDs, plus a buzzer. Light and sound confirm each card read. LED means light-emitting diode.
• Watchdog function. A built-in safeguard that stops the reader halting.
• Surface or flush mounting. Fix it to the wall face, or recess it.

What else you need

• A controller with an RS485 or Wiegand 26/34 reader input.
• Cards that match one of the two frequencies above.
• Cable from the reader to the controller.
