What the specification means at the door

The ACM-A60W-EM Waterproof RFID Touch Keypad Access Reader is mounted on the wall beside a door. It checks a PIN or card credential at the entry point.

• PIN or card. Users either type a personal identification number (PIN) on the keypad or present an EM 125 kHz proximity card. Radio-frequency identification (RFID) means no contact or swipe is needed.
• Backlit touch keypad. The keys are lit, so they stay readable in low light.
• Waterproof, compact metal housing. Wall-mounted, and suited to indoor or outdoor positions such as building entrances and gates.
• Wiegand interface. Wiegand is a wiring protocol. It lets the unit integrate with external access control systems, controllers or security management platforms.
• Built-in doorbell. Visitors can announce themselves at the same unit.

What else you need

The unit itself can be used to control electric door locks, magnetic locks, exit buttons and door sensors. Wiegand is there if you want to link it to another system, not a requirement.

Cards must be EM 125 kHz proximity cards.

Office buildings, residential apartments, warehouses, secure rooms and gated entrances, wherever entry is controlled by PIN or RFID card.
