Product Description
The RJ45 Cat6 Keystone Jack Wall Mount is a wall outlet that ends a fixed network cable run at the wall. You then plug a device in with an RJ45 patch lead (the short, flexible cable with a plug at each end).
What the specs mean in practice
- Cat6 (Category 6) keystone jack: the connector is built for Cat6 cabling systems, so it belongs on a Cat6 run.
- RJ45 port: the usual Ethernet socket, so devices connect with a normal patch lead.
- Wall-mounted: the cable end is fixed in place and finished neatly, with no loose ends.
Where it fits
It suits IP cameras, wireless access points, computers and NVRs (network video recorders). Because the in-wall cable stays put, you can move, replace or unplug a device without disturbing the fixed cabling. That helps when a camera needs swapping later.
Use it for new cabling, network extensions and upgrades where a dedicated Ethernet connection is needed.
What else you need
- Compatible Cat6 cable and connectors, terminated correctly.
- A patch lead from the outlet to each device.
- The device itself: camera, access point, computer or NVR.
Performance depends on the whole cable run, the quality of the installation and the connected equipment, not on the outlet alone.
