IP55 Waterproof ABS Plastic Junction Box - 50x50mm CCTV Indoor/Outdoor Enclosure

IP55 means dust-protected and shielded against water jets from any direction — enough for a camera cable joint under an eave or on an external wall. This junction box (SKU IPBOX-GREY-50X50) measures 50x50mm overall.

Body is ABS plastic — light, non-conductive, and resistant to the knocks a box mounted outdoors will take over time.

Where it fits in a CCTV install

Use it at the point where a camera pigtail meets the run back to the recorder: it keeps the joint dry and out of sight, whether that run is outdoor coax, Cat5e for PoE (Power over Ethernet), or a plain power cable.

Internal space, entry count and any cable gland provision aren't given for this box, so measure your connectors and cable diameter against the 50x50mm outer size before ordering, rather than assuming it will take a particular coupler, terminal block or number of cables.

Indoor or outdoor use is fine given the IP55 rating; fixing method isn't specified here, so plan your own mounting screws or fixings to suit the wall or surface.

FAQ: Q: What does IP55 actually protect against? A: It means the box is protected against dust ingress and against water jets from any direction, which covers typical rain and splash exposure outdoors. Q: Will a cable gland fit this box? A: Gland provision and hole sizes aren't specified for this product, so check your gland against the 50x50mm body before planning an install. Q: Is it suitable for a PoE camera run? A: Yes, it can be used indoors or outdoors to protect a joint on a Cat5e PoE run, provided the cable and connector fit within the 50x50mm body.
