Product Description
The Gold-Plated RJ45 CAT5e 8P8C Crimp Plug for Ethernet and CCTV IP puts a connector on the end of Cat5e cable. Use it to make patch leads and camera runs to the length you need.
What the specs mean on site
- RJ45 8P8C: eight positions, eight contacts. That is the full set of conductors in a Cat5e cable.
- Cat5e UTP: made for unshielded twisted pair cable. It suits both solid and stranded conductors.
- Gold-plated contacts: these keep the electrical connection consistent and help limit signal loss. The plug is suitable for Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet.
- T568A and T568B: it supports both wiring layouts. Match whichever the rest of the installation already uses.
- Transparent polycarbonate housing: you can check the conductor order before you crimp. That helps you catch a wiring mistake early.
Where it connects
The finished end plugs into IP cameras, network video recorders (NVRs), switches, routers and patch panels.
What else you need
- Cat5e UTP cable.
- A standard RJ45 crimping tool. The plug is designed for one.
- A cable tester is worth having for checking each termination, though this is not part of the product.
