Product Description
The Gold-Plated RCA Male Plug Connector for CCTV Audio Coax Cable (SKU RCA-MALE-SPRING-RED) puts an RCA plug on the end of a coaxial or audio cable. The plug then fits RCA sockets on CCTV and AV equipment.
What it does in a CCTV system
- Terminates cable for analogue audio and composite video.
- Connects a CCTV microphone to a DVR (digital video recorder) audio input.
- Links amplifiers and other RCA-compatible devices.
Its documented uses are analogue audio and composite video applications.
Build
- Gold-plated contacts. These improve conductivity and reduce signal loss.
- Screw-on termination. You fit it to the cable without specialised soldering equipment, so it suits quick jobs on site.
- Metal housing. It protects against mechanical wear and corrosion.
What else you need
The connector is only the termination. You also need a suitable coaxial or audio cable, and equipment with an RCA input or output, such as a microphone, a DVR or an amplifier. Sound reaches the recording only if the recorder has an audio input and the microphone is wired to it.
