What 9U actually gives you

9U describes the internal rack height — enough space for a small stack: a network switch, one or two patch panels, and perhaps a small UPS or DVR/NVR. It won't suit a full CCTV recorder setup with multiple drives — for that, look at a deeper or taller cabinet.
