The Timbermate Screw Wood-5.0x50mm-Multi-Purpose is a single thread woodscrew. It is made for various types of timber and man-made boards. It can also go into masonry, provided you use a plastic plug.
What the specs mean in the material
- 5.0mm diameter, 50mm long. At 50mm it sits in the range that is fully threaded, so the thread runs the whole shank.
- 40° deep single thread. A deep thread gives a secure fixing with high pull-out resistance.
- 25° sharp point with a single lead. The screw starts quickly and the thread bites more readily.
- Double countersunk head. This lowers the likelihood of head shear and helps you finish the countersink.
- Wax lubricated. Wax eases insertion, adds driving torque and gives resistance to corrosion.
Good to know before you order
Lengths up to and including 75mm are fully threaded. From 80mm upwards, every screw has a 70mm thread length. If you are matching a longer screw from the same range, expect that difference.
For masonry, the plastic plug is a separate item. The screw does not go into brick or block on its own.
